Stefan Bircheneder, who studied classical painting techniques and worked as a church restoration artist, has been dedicated to his art practice in Germany since 2011.

Drawing on contemporary industrial sites and architectural spaces, Bircheneder masterfully combines painterly elements to create hyperrealistic images that heighten the effect of trompe l’oeil—an illusionistic technique that deceives the eye.

His work ranges from grand-scale, classical-style paintings to sculptural canvas-based objects, all rendered with the meticulous precision of a “Baroque fantasy,” evoking a reality so vivid it feels tangible.
